Katoomba Comedy Club
World-class comedy comes to the Blue Mountains on the first Friday of each month, when AVALON presents Katoomba Comedy Club.
Hosted by the outrageously witty local comedian Amanda Gray, experience our finest home-grown comedy acts - as well as emerging local talent - who’ll make you laugh out loud in the intimate setting of our Downstairs Foyer lounge.
Grab yourself a drink from the bar and get ready to laugh yourself silly with a rotating line up of some of the greatest comedians from around Australia and our own backyard. Or, why not book a table for dinner before the show.

Michael J Brady Trio
The Michael J Brady Trio explores the air that exists between 10 strings and a set of drums. Drawing on a background in indie rock, folk, and modern jazz, this trio’s playing finds a voice that is above all sincere, personal, and in the moment.
Kate Woolfe Trio
Featuring the smooth vocals of Kate Woolfe, with Dave Clayton on upright bass, and guest Michael Hope on piano, the Kate Woolfe Trio renders an adventurous repertoire, spanning the standards – including Ellington, Porter, Berlin and Gershwin – and remodels the classics in a fresh, lounge-style.
The Jean Marshall Trio
The Jean Marshall Trio features Jean Marshall on vocals, Joel Fox on guitar and George Gerontakos on double bass. They perform a range of cool blues and warm jazz with a repertoire ranging from the jazz era through to now, from quirky to classics.
Simon Watts & Cameron Jones
Violinist Simon Watts and guitarist Cameron Jones perform an eclectic mix of toe-tapping tunes, drawing inspiration from the driving rhythms and melodic honesty of the acoustic gypsy jazz guitar, to music from Simon’s Irish ancestry, steamy tangos and Hot Club swing jazz.

Featuring Bruce Johnson (Trumpet and Flugelhorn), George Gerontakos (Double Bass), Joel Fox (Guitar), and Kristina Frazer (Vocals), The BlackHeathens will take you back in time to experience all that is gorgeous and grand about the Jazz era and beyond, with their lush big band sound.

Coucou Zazous brings vintage jazz to life with their unique blend of standards from luminaries such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Nina Simone, along with enchanting French Chansons.
Mountain Jazz Quartet
The Mountain Jazz Quartet has been at the heart of the local jazz scene for the past 20 years. The Quartet is George Gerontakos on double bass, Frank Corby on drums and Neil Sagewood on piano. Pam Allen provides the vocals.
Belinda Holland Trio
Belinda Holland has been singing jazz and blues in Sydney for over two decades. An exciting straight ahead jazz vocalist who really swings and sings the blues, Belinda will make you laugh out loud, but just as quickly quiet a busy room with a stunning ballad.

ALL ABOARD for an historical “First Class” voyage… At our most unique event ever, Avalon presents the world’s fastest violinist Vov Dylan with members of The Palace Orchestra who will recreate the band, the music and the stories from the Titanic. Meanwhile, the Avalon culinary crew will reimagine the last meal served on that fateful night, with dishes from the Titanic's First Class menus.
